Cheat Codes

In need of resources? Try this cheat(doesn't work if
you are the current regent)to get any resource except
food: Go to the Byzantium II screen, type in HDIRES.
A cursor will appear. Type in a number between 1 and
12, hit ENTER and type in the quantity you want (up
to 999), hit (enter). Go back to the main screen and
wherever your cursor was, there is now a cargo pod
with the corresponding resource in it!
Need a better view? When a unit is in orbit around a
planet or on the surface and has movement points left,
go to the Byzantium II screen and type in HDIMAP to see
the whole planet and all units, or HDIVIEW to see all
planet maps.

Playing Tips
When you first start a game make all of your buildings
create one engineer. Then use the engineers that you start
with (if any) and build one lab and one hospital. If you
have only one engineer build a hospital because a plague
can strike at any time and you need to be ready for it.

Once all the buildings finish building engineers use those
engineers to build labs. After you finished, count how many
spaces surround the labs and build that many more engineers.
Once all the engineers that you need are done, build any other
types of buildings around them so you can research restricted
things.

Don't worry about the pop-up that says, "Are you sure you
want to research this item?". Just say yes. If the church
lands near labs that are researching restricted buildings
just ignore them. The buildings you surrounded your labs
with will protect you.

Highlight any patient and click on the "Select Patient" icon.
Select the "Waiting Room" option from the "Go To" menu.
Press P during the sequence that appears at the admit desk.
The video will end and the hallway will appear. Move the pointer

To enter the in-game cheat mode at any time, type any code
as you play (it won_t work if the game is paused). Then
hit Enter. If it doesn_t seem to work, try them again. Type
them carefully when you have colonists selected: Pressing
certain letters can cause a selected colonist to initiate
a behavior trait (for example, pressing F gives the Flee command).

Try to go up the stairwell you came out of in the first
castle, where the game started. The game will not allow
you to ascend. Press [F11], then go all the way to the
left of the screen. A screen will appear with cheat mode
options. Note: You may have to move a spot or two in the
corner to find the correct location.

No clipping:
Press [F11] during game play to walk through walls, walk on
water, walk over lava, and walk past other obstacles.

Restore health:
After defeating one of the element creatures in the Element
Trials hut, talk to "?????????" (the black figure) to get
your party's life restored.

Quick level ups and extra money:
As soon as you exit the first castle (the one you started in),
go straight down and you will see a peak of land. Enter into
the water where the longest part of the peak ends. You will
fight Death (which is an easy battle). Note: To restock, go
back into the water and you will not have to fight Death again.

The Sword of the Gods:
After fighting Salander for the first time you will come out of
a hut. Go southeast until you come to some trees.
Then, go northeast to a peak of land ending at the water.
A voice will tell you to go to the royal hut. Go eight west,

Quickening Game

The object of this mode is speed and staying on the board
for as little time as possible. Just go after the Life
Force as quickly as possible; dawdling is not the path
to perfection.

Longevity Game

Think of this game as the opposite of Quickening; you
want to stay on the board as long as you can. Still,
you must move faster than you do in Quickening.
Clear the initial board as quickly as you can so that
you can move to the next level & board. Repeat this
process with each new board. Remember: the faster you
clear a level, the more levels you will get and you'll
be able to stay. Think: Tetris with a mind-expanding
point of view.

Abundance Game

This is the game of accumulation - racking up as many
points as possible within the time limit, The best way
to do this is to first gobble up all the Life Force on
the board but one. Leave that and then concentrate on
your point total. As you do this, keep an eye (your
third eye?) on the timer so that you can absorb the
final life force just before time runs out.

At the title screen, option-click the Escape Velocity title.
This will display the EV-MST3K scroll. At the end, when you
see "M.C.B. 4:35 A.M." hold down option-shift-control-command-F.
You will hear the Forklift theme song, "They'll Try To Kill
'Em With A Forklift". The loaded pilot will then receive the
forklift-- a weapon of unspeakable power which the pilot can
take with him (or her) from ship to ship.
Don't use this weapon at close ranges...

The forklift is guided much like a torpedo (and is just
as slow), but it has an incredibly long range and does
tons o' damage. Seven simultaneous forklifts
(you need a LONG running start for THIS little trick...)
will disable a Confed Cruiser! Five simultaneous will KILL
a Rebel Cruiser. Anything less than a Kestrel will be killed
with only one shot. Sometimes, small fighters are kind
enough to collect together. One shot can kill them all.

This is the only weapon I know of which is capable of
killing the dread Cap'n Hector, and only if you aim it at
ANOTHER ship; time it just right so that Cap'n Hector is
passing the ship just as the forklift detonates.

Defeating Frog Deadite Boss:
When the Frog Deadite goes to impale you with its tail, move out of the
way and it will get it stuck in the ground. Cut it with the chain saw so
that the Frog Deadite opens its mouth. When the mouth is open, fire a
rocket into it. It should take five or six rockets to kill the Boss.

Defeating Rhineheart
When Rhineheart comes at you in the final level, immediately start
firing your missile gun. During some periods he will shoot ground
level blood lines; just dodge them. Other times he will shoot full
circle blood waves; jump those. If he gets close enough to you, he
will pick you up and start punching to severely drain your life.
When he gets low on health he will run to the altar to recharge.
If he recharges you must repeat the process all over until he is
dead. Face the altar when he picks up the book with his powers
to recharge. Kick Sam towards the book, unhooking Rhineheart
from recharging. Repeat the missile launching and dodging the blood
lines and blood waves. Remember to stay away from him.
Repeat kicking Sam towards the book. When he is low enough on health,
he will slowly walk back to the altar. This should give you enough

Secret - Special Bike
The secret bike is a selectable bike that gives you 100 points on
everything. In order to get the bike, you need to go to `Jellystone`
under Motocross. Now, in the track, find the trolly line that runs
from the top of the the mountain down to the bottom, and go to
the bottom. There should be a bridge right before (on the track) you
get to the end of the line, go across it at about 50-70mph and instead
of turning to the right, go straight up the small little hill
directly ahead of you, and try to land on top of the little bridge.
You will want to go a little to the left, but practice and you
will land on top of it. Now, once you are on top, you will see a
little red spinning ball, drive through it and you got the bike.
Make sure when you go through, that it says that you have unlocked
the bike. Now, go to the bike selection screen, and you will see
a tab with 4 question marks (????), click on it and you got
the bike. There is another way to do this, however it is harder.
Go to the top of the mountain where the trolly line starts and go
behind the little shack thing. You will see that there is a
jeep parked against the back of it. Go back a little bit,
and face it directly. Once you start going, use your prejump
to land on the top of the jeep and then ride up onto the top of
the little shack.
Next, align your bike straight with the trolly line and drive
across it down to the bottom. Note: When running down the line,
the trolly will be moving also, and if you hit the top of it,
you will fall off. In order to make it across, you need to get
the bike as straight as possible, and go as fast as you can.
Right before the trolly hits you, prejump and you
will jump over it and make it across. This takes an extremely
long time in order to make it, so practice!

Secret - Hidden Track #1 - Titan
This track is very easy to get. Select Eifle Trifle from the Motocross
menu, and go to the near end of the track where there is a crooked jump.
You will know what jump I am talking about. Next hit that jump around
60-65mph and make sure you hit it to the left and land on the second
layer of the building (there are two layers, the second is the higher
one). Next, go straight across the top of the building, at the end you
will see a ramp, hit this. You will land on top of another building (if
you hit it fast enough). Haul ass to the end of this one also, and hit
the ramp a tad to the left. Why? Cause if you will past the ramp, there
is another ramp on the next building that leads to the top of the
skyscraper, you need to land on this ramp, and drive up. Make sure you
are going as fast as you can, and line it up! I recommend a 250, or a
custom that is equivalant. Once you have landed on the ramp leading to
the top (may take a few tries), ride up it slowly, and dont go over
the top! Once you are at the top, carefully transfer to the building
roof. Once your on, look around, you will see a walking zombie, ride
through him and you will unlock the track, `Titan`. You can find it
under Freestyle.

Secret - Hidden Track #2 - Heavy Metal
Select Phantasy Isle from the Motocross menu. Once the game starts right
off the track to the beach. Follow the beach until you see this weird
alien spaceship thing. Right before in front of the ship there are two
sand pits. Go to the farthest one up, and climp up the hill behind it
a little ways. Now point directly at the ships `leg` that is closest to
you, and decend down the hill and hit the gas. You will go to the the
end of the pit where there is a little bump this, prejump on this to
clear the water below and land on the spaceship leg. Slowly go across
the top and over to the other side, there you will find a wirlpool. Go
down onto the leg closest to the wirlpool, and then punch the gas and
prejump to land into the pool. If you landed in it, then you will get
a message telling you, that you have unlocked a hidden track.

Secrect - Hidden Track #3 - Hamster Hill
You will want to get this track last, because after I got the bike and
the tracks, I was able to get this one. Select the Badlands under the
Freestyle menu. As soon as you enter the track, will will see a hill
to your immediate left. That is the hill you need to conquer. But, you
cannot climb it because if you try will wil crash. So in order to make
it on top, be sure you have the special bike you got from Secrect #1.
Now, when you enter the track, go straight ahead and you will see a
bridge made out of a half pipe. Go across it to the other side and turn
around. You will need as much speed as you can get, but will will also
need to turn good to, so find the right ratio. Anyways, once across,
build up your speed and go across again, but don`t go all the way, you
need to go on the left side, then turn hard right and jump up the side
of the pipe on the right and fly over to the top of the mountain. This
is very hard and takes practice. And if you can`t make it, then you can
land on the pipes that are right next to it (you`ll need to jump up the
same way and land on the pipes instead of the top of the hill, plus the
pipes are closer anyhow). If you sucessfully landed on top of the pipes,
then you can follow them up and they will set you on top of the moutain.
Either way you do it, as soon as your on top, there will be a giant
hamster head, run through it and you will unlock Hamster Hill, you can
find it under the freestyle tracks.

Here's a fun cheat for those who has beaten the game and don't
want to put it away yet. The hex locations in the save file for
the 4 soul crystal slots are 7920 7922 7924 and 7926. By editing
these locations, you will have the ability to summon pratically
any monster to fight for you; even the ones that are impossible to
capture with the spell. Imagine summoning an Order Mage or
Vahnatai Lord! or perhaps Erika! Monsters that are larger than
1 square have screwed up graphics but work otherwise.
